Jo Fontaine is a preacher’s kid who grew up in a series of small towns, first in Minnesota and then in Michigan. After high school graduation in Cadillac, Michigan, she returned to Minnesota for college. She received her Bachelors degree in Child Psychology from the University of Minnesota and later earned a Masters in Nonprofit Administration from Hamline University.
Jo is married to Richard Fontaine, and they live in Highland Park with an incorrigible Welsh Corgi dog. She has two daughters from her first marriage and three grandchildren of whom she is very proud. She has been employed by two previous churches, Messiah United Methodist in Plymouth, Minnesota and Minnehaha United Methodist in Minneapolis–doing Christian education, social outreach, church administration and membership care. Her first love is working with children, teens and families and greatly enjoys camps and retreats for all ages.
Jo enjoys music, reading, hikes, fishing, sunrises and sunsets. Her special place is a family cabin in northern Minnesota. She is delighted to be joining the staff of Central Presbyterian Church.
