Sunday, February 19
Jesus’ teachings in his Sermon on the Mount challenge us to be more like God. “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Rev. Colby will preach on love that resists evil without demonizing others. The Central Choir and the Kid’s Choir are singing.
Sunday, February 26
Jesus took a few disciples up on a mountaintop to pray and gain more clarity about his purpose And up on that mountain, an amazing thing happened. On this Transfiguration Sunday, we can think about our identity and purpose. The Central Choir is singing a piece that we commissioned (in partnership with VocalPoint) several years ago by local composer Abbie Betinis.
Ash Wednesday, March 1
On Ash Wednesday, we begin the season of Lent. We will have two services in the sanctuary. 12:30 and 7:30pm.
In the evening, all are invited to begin this season with a simple supper of soup and bread available at 6:45, and then join together in worship.
